New to the group

Hi my name is Julia,
I am a mother of 2, and in the proccess of becoming a GS. I have been chosen from a couple in Chicago and am so happy! This has been something I have been wanting to do for about 4 years now. I am done having my babies and I can't wait to give a wonderful gift to my IP'S.
Hopefully my contract should be done in the next week or so and we can get moving. Any newbie advice? What to look forward to and watch out for? Look forward to being apart of this wonderful group of women.

I am tired of all this waiting. Does anyone have any time frames of how long it takes to get this contract thing done and what to look forward to?

Don't rush the contract. Make sure everything you want is included and things that you don't want aren't in it. If I had signed the first contract my IPs lawyer gave me I would have been in breach just for going with them to the RE and going to the grocery store as they had limits on where I was allowed to go.

Congratulations on your match. As far as contracts my last one took about 6 months I think. We agreed on everything we was just waiting on the lawyers LOL! I know it sucks to wait but I am so glad ours did take awhile we spent even more time getting to know one another and bonding. It was wonderful just try and take your time. Waiting is never easy to do but the reward in the end is worth it. :)

the contract phase can vary a lot. i have seen some gals get it done in a matter of days while others can take months :eek: you just never know. it will depend on how you and your ip's feel about things...if there are a lot of adjustments etc. it also depends on the lawyers...sometimes they can drag their butts.
