I need some help!

Okay, here is my situation.

I'm a soon-to-be GS for a wonderful couple that has gone through all of the hoops. We met with the RE this week, on Monday. For me, everything went wonderfully. I was told that I'm the perfect candidate to be a surrogate carrier. My IP's, however, didn't have such great luck. It turns out that my IM doesn't have that great of eggs. She has had IVF once before and it didn't work. She has also previously had a miscarriage. She is not confident that she could even carry a baby to term. So, the RE told her about egg donation, however, just to get on the waiting list is one whole year. Then after she gets on the list it takes however long after that. So, I come to you with some help.

I am not sure where to begin to look for a donor. I told my IM that I would come here and ask if you had any suggestions. She would rather find an individual that is willing to donate her eggs as opposed to going through a service.

If you have any suggestions or know anyone who is willing to donate their eggs, I would love to hear from you!

It depends on what she is looking for in a donor. Smarts, looks, etc. That will determine how hard it might be. There are free classifieds on the other boards where ED's who want to donate put up ads. Check there. Good luck.

I second WestCoastGS said, you can even put up ad's for an ED that you are looking for, don't give up and don't get discouraged because there are plenty of EDs out there for you!

I agree that it definitely depends on what she is looking for in an egg donor. If she is 5'2 and her husband is 5'5 they probably would not want an egg donor like me (I'm 6ft+). If they are dark skinned they probably wouldn't want an Irish (light-skinned) ED... so it all comes down to preferences. Have you tried posting an ad on www.opts.com? That is where I met my first potential IPs.
