This I find inspirational. That a father would do that, risking himself for his family. What is worse is that this wasn't far (30 miles) from where I live. His body taken a mere 3 miles from my house for the autopsy. :(

Yes that is on the news all over here and they are calling him a true hero. So very sad that he had to pass on...

I have been following the story. It is so sad and heroic. I read somewhere (maybe a link on another message board...?) but they were saying that the mother kept her children alive by breastfeeding them both. They must have been so scared.

Yes, that is correct, she did do that!!! WOW, that is just heartbreaking but at least she was able to do that, it saved her childrens life!

I told my DH about the tragedy on the way to work this morning. My voice cracked when I told him the father had died and the mother nursed her daughters to keep them from starving...it took me several minutes before I could talk again. I am so very sorry for the Kim Family.

Yesterday when they found his body it was breaking news on the local station because of the proximity and of course they didn't have many details. I cheered when they found the mother and 2 children and was amazed at how she kept them okay by BFing. I thought for sure the dad would survive. Him leaving clues and everything.

What a heartbreak for the family. It is especially hard when it is so close to your home. You just think to yourself what if that was my family:(
