I see so many surrogates who spot in early pregnancy and that it's normal with IVF, but I don't see too many preggo with their own naturally that bleed or spot. Here I find myself with exactly that. I wouldn't be so worried if i hadn't of had a miscarriage years back that started the same way. Sigh. Spotting for a week now and the dr. isn't too terribly concerned because the soonest they could see me would be next thursday. I'm just holding out for my regular appointment and first ultrasound on the 30th and pray that there is a heartbeat...clear cut answers...sigh just a vent really.

I had bleeding until almost 6 months with my 1st DD, hence the reason I didn't know I was pregnant until about that time.

Bleeding comes from the placenta shearing against the uterus and depending on where it decided to implant the blood can come out red, brown (old blood) or just absorb into the uterus.

I hope it clears up for you!

My high risk OB doctor told me that 40% of women with singleton babies have some bleeding and cramping in pregnancy and go on to have a healthy child. Bleeding and cramping is even more common with multiplies. I am crossing my fingers and toes for you that everything will be just fine.:)

Well up until this AM there was no clots of any kind. I pretty well laid around all day yesterday, the morning sickness killed me. I got up this AM and went potty and when I wiped it was RED blood and there were some small clots. I know the dr.s office that I'm supposed to go to on the 30th is closed today so it looks like I'll be going to the OB practice at the hospital and canceling my other appt at the other place. Only because it's red and there are clots I am really worried.

Let us know as soon as you know something! They'll probably do an U/S and listen to the baby's HB.

No one can freaking see me this week and say it's not an emergency because I'm not soaking pads or cramping and because the clots are not big....sigh...

Bleeding is scarey! (or it always is for me) Just a thought.........to stop bleeding blood has to clot. The two times I have bleed the episode has ended with clotting and the blood seems to get darker almost black before it stops. I hope everything goes well for you:) Best of luck!!

You NEVER have to wait on a doctor. Go to the emergency room and demand an U/S. You have insurance, so no biggie.

Do it, and let us know what you see okay?

I agree!! Go for it!!!:) Go to the emergency room. During my fourth week when I had my first bleeding and cramping episode I thought I was miscarrying (scarred to death) so I went to the ER........was there before the doctor on call could call me back. The doc on call thought it was thought it was a good idea to have an U/S.

Kari,
Just checking in on you. Did the bleeding slow down? Did you go to the ER? I'm thinking of you.

No I didn't go in...Slap me later for this BUT..I can't leave work... That would leave a new girl in charge and frankly I'm afraid what I'd come back to. I guess my loyalties to the place that works me almost 60 hours a week is too high. On a good note almost no bleeding today. It seems to come and go...so weird. I have the morning sickness though so at least that is a good sigh..right?

I think that is good... as far as being sick goes anyway... when is your next OB appointment?

You can go after work, of course...but you must not be that concerned anymore or I'm sure you would've.

Everything sounds good than - although I'm sure you can't wait for your next OB appt!

NEXT OB appointment? I haven't even had one yet. They dont' see people till after 8 weeks...I'll be one day shy of 9 by then though..it's the 30th...At least i know I'll either see a heartbeat or not..if no heartbeat there is no hope..none of that worry and wait crap.
