Last year, when I was going to work with a different IF couple, I got the process started for a life ins. policy. It was a huge PIA, had to do a complete medical workup and interview, and it took 5 weeks to get approved!

Well, when my IF's decided to pursue adoption instead, I let the approval package sit. Recently, I opened it up and tried to activate it. Come to find out, they won't accept the annual premium by any method other than personal check! WTH?

Why can't they take a bank drafted check (certified check), or money order, or credit card? I won't write a personal check. They are against my religion. Okay, not really...but I don't write checks although I have them. I just prefer paying with my debit/credit card.

Has anyone any ins. leads for people that don't care how they get paid? :(

I am right there with you, I hate checks, to me they are a time bomb. It always makes me nervous when I am not sure if they are floating out in "Mail land".... Thats sux that they are being so picky. Have you tried your lawyers office, maybe they know of someone, or one of those generic online life insurance places.

I know when I got mine it was a big deal also along with a PITA! Full medical workup/bloodwork~yuk.

Not to change the subject . This pickiness about forms of payment is a huge PIA . What I want to know since when is cash not legal tender . Several Large Business's here wont except cash ..GEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Insurance companies are infamous for dictating specific's they make it as hard as the can to renew you policy.

I think they have gotten to big for thier britches

My Life insurance company had the same rule about check vs. any other form of payment. I think the banks have something to do with it..cause if the check puts you in the negative they get oodles of money for your over draft..okay not really but the banks are a huge conspiracy so it wouldn't surprise me.

All I had to do for my life insurance was answer a bunch of questions over the phone then send the payment... I did send a check but wasn't told of any specific requirement for payment.

Right here with you. It's very annoying. And then when they won't take your cash, why are credit cards such a big no no? You'de think with a cc, it's not gonna bounce, and they WILL get paid. It makes absolutely no sense.

I'm not gonna write a check without a valid reason.

I'll check on it for you tomorrow... I think it was Fidelity Life. It was a nice old guy I talked to, though...

Forgot to follow up with you. Was it Fidelity you went with? I still don't have a policy, and I'm transferring next month. :(

The only suggestion I received from this thread was FIDELITY.

Does anybody have life insurance for their surro contract through anybody else at all, or does everybody on the boards use FIDELITY? :)

I still don't have a policy yet. :(
