I know it seems to be getting more and more common. Just curious how you feel about c-sections for no medical reason. It seems like all the celebrities these days are having them, no one famous actually pushes their baby out anymore.

I will be having one with this next surrogacy. (Had one (required) with the last one)
I had a similar incision in June 2006 from another surgey and did not like the limitations placed on my physical activity then. There is no way I would electively choose it.

I had one forced upon me with the triplets (demanded by the parents, not recommended by my OB) at 35.5 weeks when I still had not had a labor pain and they were tired of waiting for their birth.
I've had VBAC's ever since. I might elect for a c-section with my next multiple birth IF there seems to be a medical reason for it (if the second baby is presenting weird). I had a bit of a scare with my twin VBAC last time, and I might want to avoid that.
I would definately have to be in the position first though to make that decision. I couldn't say ahead of time.
But I agree. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many c-sections in this country.

I had an "elected c-section" with the first surrogacy. It was hospital policy to have it done since I'd had one with my son. I'm looking into going to another hospital that gives me the option to have a VBAC and it's only an extra 30 minute drive.

i had one with my son above aidan at 33wks for medical reasons,so when fell preg with aidan they said i could chose to have another or have a "trial of labour".
aidan was born naturally.

well this will be my fifth section, first two were down to emergencies due to high bp and since then i simply havent been given the choice, even though i queeried it the last time,i didnt think my chances of a uterine rupture were greater then the risk of surgery but i was told where to go basically!i think its more about hospital policy than anything, britain has a terribly high rate of sections
