Contract questions For both Ip's and GS's

My IP and I are discussing getting a lot of our contract hashed out before we take it to the lawyers.
SOOOO I was wondering what were some things you had on your contract that were absolute musts?
What was something you didn't have on your contract that you now wish you had?

We want to make sure we discuss everything before hand so we don't have to discuss it through the lawyers.

I just appreciated everything being spelt out beforehand, all the details. Have the money part listed, the amounts specifically and how long Ips pay after each procedure or when the GS starts meds, anything that deals with money. How the money will be given out to the surro, so everything is upfront and spelled out.

I liked how my contract stated a gaurdian in case of death, that was nice.

have the following things

-base comp
-transfer fee
-canceled cycle fee
-best red fee weekly (NO CAP ON BEDREST)
-lost wages
-housekeeping
-monthly allowance
-maternity clothing
-c section
-loss of organs
-invasive fees

-how base fee will be paid (every 4 weeks, first at heartbeat detection or positive beta, or?)

That they pay for ALL travel, all legal, psychological and medical not covered by insurance.

-If you will S/R or abort, under what circumstances, if there is an age cut off
-Where you will give birth
-at what gestational age do you get all comp if baby is born
-that you will cosent to release of medical records if they request it
-make sure they do not have food restrictions (like saying no tuna, raw fish, etc)
-if they pay your insurance premium

thats all I can think of right now but thats a lot to start with

I was wondering if anyone could spell out some things that my IM wants to make sure she has included in the contract.

have it included that you will release medical records to her, when the point of full comp is (some IPs want to cover this at a higher gestational age vs. lower), How many days after a procedure are you paid for it (7 days, 14?), that she has full access to babies in hospital being the parents, wether you will deliver at home, hospital, birth center, etc. If the baby turns out to be a product of you and your DH then you have to pay back all monies, if your last comp payment is held pending DNA results. That is all I can think of now.

Hi all,
I am only a couple of days new to this board and learning alot from reading all the posts. I am very excited to get started on this journey. I live in ohio and was chosen my IP'S in Chicago. I was taking some notes on things that should be put into a GS contract. Great help by the way. Does anyone have maybe an Idea of about how long it takes to get this procces going and what initally I should look forward to. I am just ready to get moving. I am so excited.Also anymore inmput on what should be in a contract?

With my first journey I was lucky to have a friend's contract to look at and my IP's had a simple version contract they were going to use with their cousin. So we e-mailed them to each other and were able to talk it over in person when we met and practically wrote it ourselves. I would say to already have your list ready so that you know what you will be asking for before going in. That way when it comes time to talk about your fees you can be more confortable with doing so.
