It has caused quite the brew-ha-ha here. The police force has openly apologized and said they were wrong and that they are going to change their procedures. Poor girl! :o

:mad: I find the arrest after rape to be utterly disgusting however I'm particularly appalled that the "jail worker" was a medical supervisor!!! Whatever a person's personal religious values are if they are in a position of authority in a medical capacity they have absolutely NO RIGHT thrusting their beliefs on another! That makes me furious. That person should not only lose their job, but their medical license to boot.

i saw this on Nancy Grace a few days ago. i was APAULLED at the justice system and the police force for their decisions on that case. a warrant issued in 03' over RESTITUITION is not preceeding over the need to get a rape victim the help needed. rape is very traumatising and an emotional rollercoaster. it can spiral women into being depressed, anxious, scared, etc. i was so upset for that woman. she needed medical care as well as support from family, doctors, etc. and all she got was a slap in the face for an old warrant over restitution and thrown in the slammer.

THEN to be told that the pill was against their religion was RIDICULOUS!! i imagine after being raped you would be concerned of getting pregnant. especially if you dont track your cycles and were unsure of if and when you might have ovulated. not that the rape victims hadnt dreamed of having a child before. but, not with their rapist.

i find the police force and the jailers workers, extremely RUDE, SELF CENTERED, NIEVE (sp?), IMMORAL, not to mention INCONSIDERATE. it made me so mad that i had to change the channel. I just cant see looking at her knowing that she has been violated in one of the worse ways that any woman or person could be violated and having to saying their whole spill. ya know the you are under arrest. you have the right to remain silent...yada yada yada. this is one particular case where someone needs to be fired & SUED.
